We’re rolling into that fleeting moment of equal light and dark.
I’m looking from a 12th story window onto a beautiful Oslo afternoon, and I’ve climbed up here to reflect on my summer of music festival performing, river swims, lonely moments of betwixt and between, requiem writing, ecstatic moments of singing, meeting ordinary people whom I find extraordinary, walking through airports…
And here it is, the autumn equinox, and time to share new things with YOU!
I’m going to take this autumn equinox (Sept 22-24) to look up from the grind and routine… feel the big picture however I can – the pulse of light and dark, time yawning and stretching at equilibrium.

Looking back to July 21st… still in awe of the daring technological reach, and WARMTH of 10,000 souls singing together… that was the honor of leading songs in LA Master Chorale’s BIG SING. And to bring myself and YOU (back) to that joy, I’ve posted ‘Bring Me Little Water, Silvy’ as a Single on Spotify and all other streaming platforms

And… that same July evening I performed the official Los Angeles release of ‘UNZIP THE HORIZON’. In these TEN newly released Concert Videos, you can see me + six singers from Tonality, Peter Hastings (bass), and Chris Wabich (drums). It was a homecoming – with everyone singing along, special guests and old friends coming up on stage for various songs… best versions of these songs yet! And I’ve just posted each on my ‘moiraVOCO’ YouTube Channel, so please have a look/listen!

Tonight I’m performing a whole new program with SVER, the brilliant Swedish/Norwegian band who brings together deep traditional fiddle music and daring original writing. Tonight at Riksscenen in Oslo!
It was a thrill to set the powerful words of Kurt Vonnegut to music – that Requiem will premiere in May, 2019… same instrumentation as Stravinsky’s ‘L’Histoire du Soldat’!
And lastly, I’m doing more SOLO SHOWS and choral collaborations starting in November and throughout 2019-2020: November touring to University of Iowa, LOTUS Festival in Bloomington, Depauw University… and SEATTLE / TACOMA / BELLINGHAM / VANCOUVER BC in March-April. Tours with my beautiful bandmates in Jayme Stone’s Folklife and Seamus Egan Project continue too, so please keep checking my calendar (which I promise to keep more updated! Heh)
